Beware my lovely 1952 📽️🍿🥤 Ida Lupino, Robert Ryan. Drama, Film-Noir, Crime.

⭐Beware My Lovely:
A psychopath on the run takes a job as a handyman at the house of a lonely war widow. Helen Gordon hires Howard Wilton as a handyman to do chores around her house. She doesn’t know what she’s let herself in for. Insecure and paranoid, Wilton thinks everyone, including Helen, is against him. He suffers from memory lapses and extreme mood swings. She’s soon becomes a prisoner in her own house.

This gem of a movie is filled with close calls and near misses. Ida Lupino and Robert Ryan keep the tension hot and the emotions high in the closed quarters of this house. If you love suspense this is a fantastic film-noir!

⭐Trivia:
This story was originally broadcast on the CBS radio show Suspense as “To Find Help” on 18 January 1945 with Frank Sinatra as Howard and Agnes Moorehead as Mrs. Gillis (Mrs. Gordon in the film). This was Sinatra’s “dramatic debut” on radio. It was successful enough to get a second production in 1949 with Gene Kelly, Ethel Barrymore, and William Conrad.

⭐Flub Ups:
When Howard Wilton leans against the front door after having been laughed at by Ruth, the large shadow of the microphone is visible on the door and slowly gets out of the shot.
