It is a 1972 American crime film directed by Francis Ford Coppola, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mario Puzo, the film is based on Puzo’s best-selling 1969 novel “The Godfather”. The Godfather is considered one of the greatest gangster movies ever made.
Synopsis: The Godfather “Don” Vito Corleone is the head of the Corleone Mafia family in New York. Vito’s youngest son Michael is not interested in being part of the family business. Vito is a powerful man who is kind to all who respect him, but merciless against those who do not. But when Solonzo, a powerful rival, seeks Don’s help in selling drugs, Vito refuses to do so. Thus the conflict between him and other mafia families who were interested in doing drug business is filmed, the story of how his son Michael, who took over the family business after him, waged a war against all the mafia families and became a don-like his father.
It has many aspects about family, loyalty, greed, relationships, and real life. Overall, The Godfather is one of Hollywood’s biggest commercial success stories.
