To the surprise of no one, the Sith Lord in The Acolyte was finally revealed to be Quimir during episode 5 of the series on June 25, following a brutal massacre which saw his mask get damaged at the hands of Jecki before she was killed. While Quimir’s true identity has long been suspect, fans finally have confirmation of what they’ve been guessing since the beginning. Though Disney may have been expecting a certain response to the reveal – perhaps an OMG – what they’ve gotten instead is fans rallying on social media to express their undying devotion to the Dark Side thanks to Manny Jacinto.

While fans of Manny Jacinto have long been commenting on his good looks thanks to his leading role on The Good Place which lasted from 2016 to 2020, his new role as a Sith Lord has them crushing even harder on the Canadian actor, despite the brutality with which he dispatched Jecki and Yord in episode 5 of The Acolyte. Instead of being horrified by his reveal, users on social media are gushing in droves over Jacinto and his new bad boy role.

User bulepidr took time out of their day to thank those responsible for Manny Jacinto’s newfound duties, as seen below.

Then we have AHSOKA_STAN1 asking the important question: how are we supposed to despise someone when they’re so darn good-looking?

There’s also voidbeann, who claims to know all the rules when it comes to casting Manny Jacinto.

Don’t forget about camandfilm, who proclaims that any criticism of The Acolyte going forward is instantly overruled.

Finally, we have stoneydubb, who says that Jedi aren’t the only thing Manny Jacinto can split in half. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Manny Jacinto Is Just Glad It’s Finally Over

It’s not unusual for actors to have to keep quiet about one of their upcoming roles, but for Manny Jacinto the pressure has been extra hard given that his particular part just happens to be in the Star Wars universe, a franchise that’s notorious for trying to keep things under wraps. For the past two years, he’s had to lie his way through various conversations, and now that it’s finally been revealed that he is a Sith Lord, Jacinto can breathe a sigh of relief and talk about the part he’s held close to the vest for quite some time, which he did with Entertainment Weekly. He said that now that it’s all out in the open, he can finally relieve some of the anxiety he’s been dealing with.

“I’m the worst liar. I’ve been lying to people for the last two years — to their faces. Some of them, they straight up call me out, and they’re like, ‘I don’t trust what you’re saying.’ Some of them believe me. But
I’ve been lying, and it gives me a lot of anxiety
, having to lie to people. I mean,
right now I’m tingling [smiles]
, just because this is
the first time that I’m actually able to talk about it

What awaits Quimir and Manny Jacinto in the future? Fans will have to tune in to episode 6 of The Acolyte when it airs on Disney+ on July 2, 2024. For now, we’ll leave you with the thoughts of itsthenatv, who didn’t care one bit if it was obvious that Manny Jacinto was a Sith Lord all along.
